  • Building and strengthening WDV’s Membership base and the engagement and participation of Members in WDV’s programs and activities.
  • Communicating with all WDV Members, women with disabilities, key stakeholders and the wider public in promotion of WDV activities.

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is a position within our Operations team, this position is responsible for:

  • Promoting the goals and priorities of WDV by ensuring accessible, relevant, timely and effective marketing and communications of WDV to its members, stakeholders and the wider community.
  • Supporting the WDV Strategic Plan by pursuing marketing and communication initiatives and tools that inform and influence community attitudes, including the disability and related sectors, our members, government and key stakeholders.

We are currently looking for an experienced Workforce Capacity Building Officer Gender and Disability Equity.

Hours are 60.80 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE) to be worked over Monday to Thursday each fortnight.

This position is from the date of appointment to 30 June 2021, and may be extended subject to funding.

Prevention Resources Development Officer, Part-Time (0.7FTE)

We are currently looking for an experienced Prevention Resource Development Officer for our Workforce Development Program on Gender & Disability.

This role will be responsible for developing and disseminating prevention of violence against women (PVAW) resources to enable target workforces to implement PVAW strategies for women with disabilities. Women and girls with disabilities are twice as likely to experience violence as those without disabilities. This online workshop will show how gender and disability inequality drives violence, and how you can prevent it.

This training will be delivered over three sessions:

Session 1: Introduction to Prevention of Violence against Women with Disabilities

  • How primary prevention can inform the safe management of disclosures of violence against women with disability
  • Referral services which can assist in responding to women with disability who experience violence

It is not essential to attend all three sessions, but please note that Session 1 is a prerequisite for Sessions 2 and 3.

This training will benefit people who work in the disability sector, local council, education, specialist organisations and other social service roles.

Following on from these three training sessions, Women with Disabilities will also be offering a 90 minute trouble-shooting session for participants in the workshops, to discuss implementation strategies and actions in the workplace. The date and time for this session will be announced at a later date.

The training is co-facilitated with an expert in violence prevention and a woman with a lived experience of disabilities. This role will support the Chief Executive Officer to ensure Women with Disabilities Victoria (WDV) has the systems and processes to effectively carry out its mission.
